Return to the East Rim Trail
The East Rim Trail Loop is a favorite and it is one that I do two or three times each year. There are variations on the route chosen each time, but usually the trailhead off Whiteshield Crescent is the starting point and the loop includes crossing Peterson Creek and taking single tracks on the east side of the canyon rim down to the falls lookout, a descent down to the bottom of the canyon, and a climb back up.
Fall colors are part of the attraction of hiking Peterson Creek at this time of the year.
There are scenic spots along the whole trail. Click an image for a lightbox view and a caption.
