1. hi enjoyed your trip report Kaapoko tunnel hike, we tried on august 22nd 2021 and lost the trail just before dropping down along the last big stream to follow. understanding trail descriptions from past but trail was completely non existent at that point and blue ribbons no longer. Im curious when you actually went? driving across first river required a 4×4 then a large pool of water up to floor boards. that’s great you made it, hoping to try again, but just trying to get recent data of people actually hiking trail in last year. thanks for any feed back. glen

     Thanks for your interest. My hike in there was a few years ago now, so the road and trail may have be reclaimed by the rain, the mud, and the jungle. At the time i used a GPS to keep me on track. I did have a 4×4 also, but after lots of rain, it may be too difficult to get in there. Good luck,
