Snowshoe Boots
We can use either hiking boots or winter boots for snowshoeing, but few winter boots are stiff enough to support the ankles. A good choice is to use your old winter boots, but get them ready to be under the snow:
- Apply dubbin to the leather which also serves to keep them supple and will also help with durability.
- Seal up any cracks or worn areas with Shoe Goo.
- Use a silicone spray on any Goretex areas. The silicone wears off by spring anyway.
- Wear good gaiters over your boots.
