We hiked up the Calico Tanks Trail, a very nice route.   From the upper tank, I scrambled (with some free climbing up and down cracks) to the top of the eastern hilltops then came down and went up a chimney to the top of the Calico Hills on the west side.   After lots of exploration, I came down a steep gully to the trail.

In the afternoon, we hiked the Icebox Canyon route.  The first part is across a rocky trail, but the route then drops into the creek and the rest of the way is all rock-hopping and bouldering to the upper end of the box canyon where a trickle of a waterfall comes down a vertical chute.   This was a very slow but fun hike/scramble.
