Paddling Lac le Jeune East
I paddle a circuit of lakes in the spring and summer. Lac le Jeune can be paddled in a day, but this year i paddled the west end, including the passage under the bridge and the little lake on one day and I paddled the east end on another day. I launched off the beach at the campground, paddled across the lake and followed the southern shoreline to the far east end of the lake.
A beautiful warm sunny day with no wind made the lake calm and the paddle was peaceful since I arrived before the power boats were on the lake.
Loons were busy protecting their chick as they fished the bays.
I paddled up the marsh channels and back. Marsh cinquefoil was just staring to bloom. The marshes were a quiet retreat from the summer busyness of the lake.
The paddle around the east end of the lake was 5.6 km. I added a walk on trails to the day. Another great day at Lac le Jeune.
