Roche is a busy lake so it is best to paddle there on weekdays or in the off-season.   There is a boat launch in each campground but both require a quick unload/load since botas can arrive at any time.

The weather was mild with light winds.

There was a chironomid hatch on and the fish were jumping.

There was a bald eagle, a great blue heron, loons, geese, ducks, wrens, and blackbirds on the lake.

Taking photos from a kayak is never easy.   i am still looking for a solution.

I often avoid Roche because it is hard to stay out of the way on a lake that belongs to fishermen.   I stuck to the shoreline and watched for their lines today and managed to be as unobtrusive as possible.   On to the next lake….
