On Knouff Lake
One of the lakes that I paddle every year is Knouff (Sullivan) Lake. There are launch spots at several places but when the lake is busy, i use a day use hand launch spot past the Rec Site. When it is not busy, another good spot is right at the Rec Site on the little side road on the west side of the lake. Even on a very busy sunny afternoon on a long weekenbd, there was no one else at the launch. I launched my kayak and paddled around the lake in a counter-clockwise direction.
In sheltered bays there was no wind. On the main part of the lake a breeze made paddling to the south more work.
The north end of the lake has 3 islands and marshy areas with lots of reeds and rushes, a good area to explore in a kayak.
The paddle around the lake following the shoreline was 5.7 km, just right for a hot summer day.
