On Inks Lake
In spring the three arms of Inks Lake fill with water making a larger lake. By going into each channel and back out we can paddle for 2.3 km. Once the loop is done we reverse the loop and do it again.
The back channel is out of sight from roads.
A few ducks dabbled in the lake.
The advantage to paddling Inks Lake is that it is close to town and no one else paddles or fishes the lake. In summer the shallow lake tends to get an algae bloom and the accompanying odours of rotting shoreline vegetation, so we do it in spring when the water is fresh and the birds are on the lake.
