New to Us, in 2017
We return to many of the same hikes, paddles, bike routes, and snowshoe routes each year, though we do change the season for the outing, the direction of travel, the starting point, the duration, and the group to offer some variety. Some of these are always worth doing again (like Mara Canyon, the Dewdrop Trail, Skoatl Point, Painted Bluffs, the Floodlands, Murtle Lake, Azure Lake, the North Thompson River, and many more). But we also want to explore new areas.
On the list for 2017 are a number of “new-to-us” hikes:
- Death Valley
- Pukeashun Mountain
- Botanie Mountain
- Illal Mountain
- Mount Grace
- Baldy Mountain
- Alpaca Peak
- Clearwater Peak
- hikes near Goblins State Park, Capitol Reef and Canyonlands (Utah)
- hikes near Valemount
- the Bugaboos
- Trophy 3
- hikes on the Big Island (Hawaii)
- Red Rocks Canyon trails
We have also planned some “new-to-us” paddling explorations:
- Clayoquot Sound
- Gulf Islands Explorer
- Horsefly Lake
- Quesnel Lake
- Moose Valley
- Flat Lakes
- Emar Lakes
- Big Bar Lake
We never do the whole list (but if we don’t we add them to the next year’s list) and we usually do some new ones not on our lists. Stay tuned for our reports throughout the year…
