A small group of paddlers is working to get more access to our rivers for paddling.   Keiran Rankin has spoken to the City about access off the end of McArthur Island and at the Tournament Capital.   Since there is no large paddling Club in Kamloops, it is a matter of getting support from various groups – Kamloops Canoe and Kayak Club (a flatwater racing club), the YM/YWCA, Kamloops Hiking Club (which has paddling events), the Recreational Canoeing Association of BC and Wailua Outrigger Canoe Club.

The area at the Tournament Capital Ranch looks promising.   If anyone wants to support Keiran’s initiative, please contact him.  Two Facebook groups also have some discussion underway – Kamloops Kayak and kamloops kayakers.
