Knouff (Sullivan) Lake
We try to paddle all of the lakes in our area and a number of them warrant a return visit. We enjoy both Knouff (Sullivan) Lake and Badger Lake. We drove from the Heffley Creek – Sun Peaks Road up the Knouff Lake Road, past the community of Knouff Lake to the BC Rec Site on the west side of the lake and launched our kayaks.
We paddled the shoreline, a 5.6 km loop.
Knouff Lake Resort is on the north end of the lake and the community of Knouff Lake is on the south end. A few homes line the shoreline on the east side. There are 4 islands in the lake, worth paddling around/between.
There were a few duck and geese flocks on the lake as well as some fishermen.
After paddling the lake, we chose to make a loop route by driving down the Knouff – Vinsula Road through the Sullivan Valley to the highway. Along the way we stopped to check out some views and some roadside wildflowers, a few of which are shared here.
