Trails Report – December 31, 2018
Each trail report has information on recent outings or information from others, compiled into a short summary:
Moonscape Trail – Conditions were dry and perfect for hiking, but that was before the recent snowfall.
Peterson Creek Rim Trails – trails were dry and in good condition the day before the snow fell.
Stake Lake
- the XC trails were good wherever there was recent grooming
- some open areas had hard snow, not yet icy
- snowshoe trails were hard-packed with some icy spots
- some of the off-trail sections on the Marsh Trail were good for snowshoeing
Bush Lake
- some hard-packed sections for snowshoeing and some trackless areas
- the whole area has been logged so the North Loop is difficult to figure out
Dogwood Marshes
- there are lots of tracks already started with hard snow
Snowshoeing Destinations – Silver Star, Sun Peaks, and Larch Hills all have good snowshoeing.
