Red Plateau Geocaching
Drive onto the Dewdrop Range Road (Frederick Rd.) for a short distance and park at the posted coordinates. Start your hike up the trail. There is a geocache not far off the trail called Dewey. Continue up the trail. After about 2km, take the spur trail out to the cache called Dewdrop Ecological Reserve. Continue to climb the Dewdrop Trail and on the spine of the ridge look for a cache called Dewdrop North Viewpoint. Continue to climb to the top of Red Plateau and follow the trail west to another lookout where you can log an Earthcache called Red Plateau. The final leg climbs and contours along the rim toward a special spot where the Castle Butte cache is found. The round trip is about 3 hours. More caches will be placed on Red Plateau this spring so watch for them.
