Above the Smoke
Smoke filled the valleys in the area on a hot summer day, but we took a chance and went up the chairlift at Sun Peaks to hike the upper part of Tod Mountain.
We hiked over the top and then down into Whyte Bowl for a loop route.
A few wildflowers were still in bloom in the middle of August, but in general, the meadows were turning from green to yellow.
On open slopes the wildflowers were past flowering, but in sheltered and damp spots there were still a few to be spotted. The skies were blue on the high slopes, but the valleys below were wreathed in smoke, especially in the Adams Lake area. A few images are shared here.
