On a sunny December day we snowshoed in the Dogwood Marshes.    The main marsh is at the bottom of the hill where Anderson Creek meaders through wetlands, but the marshes extend back into the forests and there are more marshes in the hills higher up where the meltwaters from Hull Hill accumulate in hollows and gullies.    Any on-the-snow route in the area can combine marshes and gullies, forest routes, and old tracks and each time we snowshoe, we try to pick a different route.    On this day, we followed a stomped in track southeast toward McConnell Lake.   

The main marshy areas have well-established tracks heading south, east, and north.     Some of the most-used tracks are counter-clockwise loop routes.

On the hill above Teal Pond are several aspen groves to explore.   

We scouted some new routes for further exploration and we hope to return to those areas soon.
