Snowy Jacko Lake
On a late winter windy day I put on my microspikes and hiked up to Jacko Lake from the Lac le Jeune Road. The access road is being used by the Trans Mountain Pipeline workers for the first short section, but the road to the boat launch was not plowed. Vehicles have been driving in there on the snow and ice, but I parked at the bottom and hiked up to the lake.
I walked along the lake and the lakeshore for a ways, then returned down the road:
Although the day was windy and the weather was stormy at higher elevations, some blue skies and some sunshine appeared at time on this 1.5 hour hike.
I paddle on Jacko Lake several times a year. Last year the first ice-off date was about April 15, so I will be back then to paddle twice around the shoreline.
