Lac le Jeune (South) Snowshoe Trails
There are a number of trails along the south side of Lac le Jeune that can be snowshoed in winter. The main trail for hiking is the Gus Johnson Trail, but there are more user-made single track trails too that are used enough to be stomped in and followed. We snowshoed 7.7 km on a mild winter day.
We passed by small marshes and the junction to the Ridge Lakes Trail and continued east.
We were pleased to have two mountain chickadees landing on branches near us, looking for some food.
We stopped at the end of Lac le Jeune for a break. looking out on mists on the lake.
Some hoar frost was on branches and lichen next to the lake.
We tried venturing onto the lake, but it was mushy and we broke through to a watery layer, so we stuck to trails all the way back.
