On the Upper Peterson Creek Trails
On a hot summer morning we got an early start to avoid the heat. We parked at the Church and walked down to the Summit Drive entrance into the Peterson Creek Trails. The canyon was dry and all signs of spring were gone as we hiked to the Tom Moore Trail and up to the old reservoir.
The water in the reservoir was low. We could see pond life in the shallows and vegetation was lush at the edges.
We hiked back down the trails, looking down into the canyon below.
Along the way were wildflowers and shrubs in bloom, with berries forming on saskatoon, choke cherry, and asparagus. Click an image for a caption.
This hike was about 3.6 km, taking about 70 minutes, a long enough hike for a hot day.
