Neskonlith Meadows in Early April
One of the finest wildflower displays of our region can be found in the Neskonlith Meadows. The trail is on the Adams Lake Indian Band reserve so a permit is required from the Band Office (just across the bridge from Chase). Please be respectful of the wishes of the Band. A parking area leads to gate and a double track that winds up through the meadows to the forest and beyond to Star Lake. In early April, the first wildflowers (buttercups, yellow bells, fern-leaved desert-parsley, and yellow avalanche lily) emerge and by the end of June there are many wildflowers covering the meadows. Successions of wildflowers follow.
The meadows are open except for a few standing shrubs.
From the meadows, we can see across to Neskonlith Lake, with some ice still on the surface in early April.
