Dewdrop Ridges Loop
There are no trails for this loop, but there are fine views and lots to see along the way. It starts by parking at the first pullout on the Frederick Loop and we climb to the ridge overlooking Kamloops Lake, then we follow a series of ridges west, looping back on lower ridges below and above the sets of bluffs in the area.
From the top of the primary ridge above Battle Bluff, we can look up the Thompson River Valley toward Kamloops.
From the western edge of the same ridge, we can look down Kamloops Lake to the west.
The hilly grasslands and open dry forests of the Dewdrop Range invite us to explore and create our own loop.
If we are lucky we will spot bighorn sheep, deer, coyotes, rattlesnakes, or nesting eagles. We will return to this spot to see if any eggs have been laid in the aerie. Watch for updates to be posted on Kamloopstrails.
