Park Avenue
Park Avenue is a short hike in Arches National Park. It is only 1 mile one way, but is an impressive walk. Two of us stated at opposite ends and exchanged truck keys in the middle. From the top features like Queen Nefertiti’s Rock, Sausage Rock, and Queen Victoria Rock stand tall above the sides of the wash.
Along the way, the views of the same features show new perspectives.
Coming out of the wash, new Park Avenue towers come into view. The Three Gossips and Sheep Rock stand on the west side.
On the east side are The Organ and the Tower of Babel.
Although it is only a mile, each of the features along the way invites us for a closer inspection and some scrambling around and up to new angles and new surprises. All of Arches is like this. Even the short hikes are just a start to exploring a world of rocks, sand and air.
