Snowshoe Routes: Hull West
We have used the backroads of Hull Hill for snowshoeing for a while now, but since there are many sideroads, each one is a separate day of exploration. On this day, the sun was shining, it was cold, the snow was crystalline, and the group enjoyed a winter’s day on the snow.
Vehicle Access:
- drive south on the Lac le Jeune Road
- turn onto the Goose Lake Road
- either park near this junction (especially 2WD vehicles after a snowfall) or park near the gate 300m down the road
Hull West Route:
- follow the backroad southeast for 850m
- the road crosses Anderson Creek at this point
- take the right fork and follow the route across a long flat area
- keep your eye out for Jack Booth’s abandoned cabin in the trees on the west side of the path
- continue along the main track as long as your time allows
- the track climbs to a viewpoint and ends at the end of a logged area at about 3.7km
- it is possible to create a loop route, but you will be breaking trail all the way so we usually follow our tracks back
