One Mile – Nairn
Most of the focus of this site has been on Interior routes, trails, and waterways, but along our major transportation routes, there are opportunities for a walk or hike while traveling. A favorite stop while driving to Vancouver via the Lilloet-Pemberton road can be found just south of Pemberton. Either park at the Visitors Center or drive south towards Whistler for a short distance and turn into a parking lot at the edge of One Mile Lake. The short loop around the lake includes trails and boardwalks, a welcome respite from sitting in a vehicle on the long road to the Coast.. If you have more time, take the junction down towards Nairn Falls and back, or explore the trail network further.
Nairn Falls Campground is a good spot to visit or as a base camp to explore the area trails. The short hike to the falls is the most popular hike, but we have also enjoyed the trails above Green River.
