Point Prospect Park
This is a long way from the Interior of B.C., but when in Halifax, hikers walk the trails of Point Pleasant Park. The point is at the south end of Halifax: Many trees were brought down by Hurrricane Juan, but replanting has been done and the trees are now a few years old.
Trail surfaces vary from pavement to wood chips. When we were here snow covered all the trails, but all were well used by runners and dog walkers. Using a convoluted loop I walked all the trails and visited the old circular fort, Martello Tower.
The view south looked out to the ocean and ships can be seen coming into Bedford Basin. This will be our choice if we return in the spring, but running shoes will replace winter boots.
