Barnhartvale Horse and Hiker Trails
The Barnhartvale Horse and Hiker Trail Preservation Society has been successful in establishing a number of trail systems in Barhnartvale. Trailheads are marked and horse-man gates are installed. At junctions, trail posts mark the way. There are boxes for trail maps, but each time I have been here, the boxes have been empty. If I can get hold of a copy, I will post it to this site. In the meantime, I have tried two nearby trailheads and have explored and mapped the lower half of the trails. To access the trails, you can park near the junction of Barnhartvale Road and Gardiner Road and follow the easement to the gate:
Follow the trail signs and at junctions, you can continue along Trail #1 to the forest. You will see junctions to Trails 2,3,4 along the way We enjoyed staying on #1 as it worked its way southeast.
An alternate parking spot/trailhead is off the Robbins/Campbell Range Road just north of the pond.
