Mayson – Bogmar – Allan – Scott Lake Trails
All trails in the Bonaparte Plateau area are surrounded by true wilderness. The trails/routes near these fly-fishing lakes sit at 1250m. The area can be accessed from the Jamieson Creek FSR from Westsyde Road just past Beauregard Lake. Other options are to take the Westsyde Road to the Gorman Lake Road or to go in from Darlington to the Powder Lake Road. Various trails can be ridden or hiked from the Gorman Lake Road, Scott Road, or the Powder Lake Road.
The Mayson Lake Trail can be started at the 51.25 km mark on the Powder Lake Road. The Bogmar Lake trails start near the 50km mark on the same road. An alternate trailhead is at km 57 on the Jamieson Creek FSR. The Scott Lake Trail is best accessed from the Scott Lake Forest Service Rec Site on Scott Lake. It is an 8km loop. A good start to the Allan Lake trails is at the Windfall Lake Rec Site on the Jamieson Creek Road.
If you choose to do these trails, be careful of wet areas, avoid the height of bug season, carry bear spray, and consider bringing your fishing rod.
