Bestwick Hill
This is a hike that won’t have many takers, but its a nice area, especially if you are looking for a new hike. Bestwick Hill is the spreading summit which the Campbell Range Road and the Robbins Range Road goes around.
The simplest access routes are on the west and south sides, but they all involve climbing over a fenceline and crossing private or Crown-lease lands. We chose to take the long route. We started at an unfenced side road off the Robbins Range Road (at N 50° 35.364 W 120° 01.577) (east of the Buse trailhead) and as we worked our way west, we picked which forks to take on the way up the hill. This took us 5km but mainly followed double tracks. The same roads are used by ATVers and snowmobilers to get up onto the ridges. The final route up to the volcanic plug at the summit involves single tracks and a fence crossing. The top is a nice spot with good views all around.
