Flumes Trail
To get to these trails, drive north towards Adams Lake and just past the Loakin/Bear Creek Road, look for a sign on the left (upper side) and turn into the Upper Flume parking lot. the trailhead starts just across the bridge. It winds up the hill next to Hiuihill Creek (Bear Creek). It is a shady, forested (cedar and hemlock) route with remnants of the old flume system found at various points. Adams Lumber employees reconstructed a portion of the flumes, using the original design. There is a waterfall on the route so bring your camera. You can make a loop trail by crossing the creek on a bridge and come down the other side. This is a good route for summer, when it is hot.
