Surrey Lake Area
Although this is not a hike per se, there is some pleasant and fairly level walking along the shoreline of two lakes and some side trails to explore. Surrey Lake is now visible from the Coquihalla Highway, but we have to access it from the Logan Lake Road. From the Lac le Jeune-Logan Lake interchange, proceed along for 7km, then turn left onto the Surrey Lake FSR. Climb for 10km (crossing underneath the Coquihalla), then turn to the lake at the signed intersection (on your right). As you approach, the road goes straight ahead to Surrey Lake Resort, or left to the west side of the lake. Turn west and park at one of the pull-outs. Follow the route along the west side of the lake. At the end of the lake at a junction, the right fork heads to Sussex Lake. Explore the area and return by the same route. The lake sits at 4500 feet which makes this a great summer exploration.
