Lions Head
These impressive bluffs overlook the South Thompson River east of Rivershore. Take the Shuswap Road and pass underneath Lions Head and then follow the road as it climbs northeast. Look for a dirt road that veers north to the power lines. Near the bottom, one fork heads down to a private ranch so stay right and continue to climb up past another home that is at another fork (stay left) and then continue on look for a parking spot off the powerline road at an elevation which allows a traverse over to Lions Head. You may have to cross a fenceline, and there are no well-established trails. The traverse is only about a kilometer and you want to aim for the north side of Lions Head, where a small valley divides the Lions Mane from the bluffs above. Crest the Lions Mane, then follow the ridge to Lions Head. Return by the same route.
