Moul Falls
The hike to the base of Moul Falls is one of the best trails of our area. BC Parks has established a good parking lot and trailhead just off the Wells Gray Corridor Road, 20.7 km from the start of the road.
The trail follows an old road for its first half, then a single track follows Grouse Creek to the top of the falls. A step/narrow trail and stairs takes us to the bottom of the falls. In the spring, there is lots of water falling over the 35m falls and mists waft through the gorge to soak all visitors.
There is a narrow trail that goes around the right side and then behind the falls, emerging in a cave on the far side of the stream. In summer we can stay dry and enjoy the behind-the-falls tour, but in spring, heavy mists will soak the explorer. We decided to get wet to get the photo (and to check the geocache in the cave).
There is a lower waterfall on the creek which is on another trail, featured in an article to follow. The hike down to Moul Falls and back is about 3km. It passes through pleasant forest and follows a creek, a nice short hike on a warm day.
If you are in Wells Gray Provincial Park, Moul Falls is a must-do.
